Kin Naming Campaign Launches with The Thompson Organization pledging $50,000

THE THOMPSON ORGANIZATION DONATES $50,000 TO KIN WELLNESS AND SUPPORT CENTER

Kin Names a Treatment Suite The “Jack Thompson Counseling & Therapy Suite” After The Dealership’s Philanthropic Founder

May 25, 2023 – Buckingham Township, PA – Kin, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is an all-inclusive Wellness and Support Center providing FREE services to cancer patients and their caregivers across Bucks County.  The Non-profit is thrilled to announce the support of one of our areas most respected and successful family run businesses The Thompson Organization.  With a pledge of $50,000 Kin has named their mental health suite the Jack Thompson Counseling & Therapy Suite in honor of Thompson’s Founder.

Laura Thompson Barnes shared, "We are proud to be a part of Kin. It is an amazing resource designed to support cancer patients and their families and caregivers. You can feel the positive energy and love the minute you walk through their door. Kin offers hope on many levels through cancer challenges that far too many community members face. We take pride in partnering with Kin to support families when they need it most."

Through the support of The Thompson Organization and hundreds of local businesses and donors throughout the Bucks County community, Kin is thriving, and now cares for over 285 local cancer patients and their caregivers.  Over the last year, Kin has offered guests over 1,823 free treatments, classes, sessions and workshops.  The care is provided by over 50 volunteer practitioners and instructors who donate their time and talent.

The counselling and support suite is the largest suite at Kin, able to accommodate both individuals and families or small groups.  Therapists and support group moderators utilize the room to support both patients in treatment and recovery and caregivers.  The room is filled with natural light and beautifully appointed with furniture and décor donated by Hendrickson’s Furniture.  The suite features a large couch, as well as a round table and chairs.  Local artist Megan Kovak has provided mural art on two of the walls within the suite.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with this amazing organization for years and they continually uplift the community through their amazing charitable donations and support,” shares Keith Fenimore the Executive Director of Kin.  “Jack was a ‘people first’ leader and given that so many of his employees, their families and his customers have been touched by cancer, I understand the motivation for Mrs. Thompson, Laura, John and Pat McGinley to want to designate this money to Kin and support our non-profit’s work.  We are so appreciative for all they do for the cancer community through our non-profit.”

Kin is 100% donation funded.  As a 501(c)(3) all donations to Kin are tax deductible. Businesses, foundations and individual donors interested in supporting Kin and securing naming rights should contact the Executive Director at 267-544-5981 or keith@welcometokin.org
