KIN, A WELLNESS AND SUPPORT CENTER FOR

CANCER PATIENTS IN BUCKS COUNTY

OPENS ITS DOORS

Inspired by Corinne Sikora, The Center Provides Free

Integrative Services, Fitness, Therapy and Support

On-boarding Guests at Kin officially begins December 8

November 23, 2021 – Buckingham, PA – Kin, an all-inclusive Wellness and Support Center for local cancer patients is opening December 8th after a year of planning and fundraising.  Kin is free to patients and their family or caregiver, and is supported by the Community as a donation based center.

Centrally located in Furlong, the 5,000 Square foot Center provides a warm welcoming retreat for all guests; featuring a kitchen to support a nutrition program, a lounge living area, four practitioner rooms, a large event and support group space with a library, a dedicated fitness studio and over 2,200 sq ft. of outdoor living space complete with gardens, built-in seating and a labyrinth.

Corinne Sikora outlined the details for a non-medical, all-inclusive wellness and support center for cancer patients from a hospital room bed while battling brain and breast cancer.  Corinne passed November 25, 2020, Kin is not in Corinne’s memory, it’s because of Corinne’s vision.

Kin’s focus is to provide a place where patients can congregate and unplug from day-to-day doctor visits and reconnect with oneself.  Kin aims to help reduce anxiety and stress and help people get centered as they journey through treatment, recovery and beyond.

Kin begins onboarding guests December 8th with a soft opening that will extend through the second week of January 2022.  Services are set to begin toward the middle of January.

Keith Fenimore, Founding Member and Executive Director of Kin shares, “When something is meant to be it materializes quickly and in a way that you couldn’t have imagined, that is the case with Kin.  In February of 2021 we announced our intentions via a press release, then a speculative budget was created that informed our fundraising goals which were met by July, raising $245,000.  In August we secured our location, renovations began in September and our doors will open in December.  This was no small feat but it proves with the support of a strong Community, anything is possible.”

Individual Community members in Bucks County along with our local businesses have stepped up and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars along with countless hours of time, talent and materials:

Hendrixson’s Furniture donated all the Center’s furniture.

As a donation based facility, Kin is reliant on Community giving to survive and thrive.  Kin has an annual donor program, a broker account for stock and security gifts, an online PayPal capability and accepts donations via check made out to Kin and mailed to: 2325 Heritage Center Dr. Suite 113, Furlong, PA 18925.  We are also seeking additional Founding Partners, which comes with naming rights and a $100,000 donation.

The name “Kin” is the embodiment of family and kinship, which the Center will exude in every aspect of its offering while embracing the mantra: ‘by the community, for the community’.  The circle around the word symbolizes the community collectively surrounding the patient and providing uplifting comfort and support as an extension of family.
