How the Emergence of Pain Science and Yoga Can Support

your Pain Care  - Workshop

Have you ever wondered why a tiny paper cut hurts so much but there is only a small bit of tissue damage? This 1 ½ hour workshop will introduce to you some eye opening science on pain and how yoga can meet your current care through supporting the whole person. The workshop begins with an overview of the latest pain science in a user-friendly format, then an introduction to yoga and its benefits both for acute and chronic pain within the cancer spectrum.  The workshop will be sprinkled with yoga practices to calm the nervous system and put into play some of the concepts of pain science. This is an all accessible workshop and any yoga practices will be done in the chair. This workshop is open to cancer guests and their caretakers. We will conclude with time for a Q&A.
